Blogtronix trial may look at social shopping

Blogtronix

Let’s pause for a post in our series here to thank George Athannassov over at Blogtronix for giving me a great test drive on the company’s blog/wiki/social networking platform.

As I noted in my first post there and at bootstrapme:

…the interweaving architecture of n10ah , with its combination of blog, Yahoo! and MSN Groups, a MyBlogLog Community was inspired in part by Blogtronix when I got my first look at it earlier this year.

But something else that’s unique is the focus on enabling media rich content.

Even though the company seems to see it mainly as a corporate networking tool, I think there are some serious independent media and entertainment applications possible.

Actually what may come out of my little experiment over the next few weeks is a social marketing model that may or may not have much to do with this site.

Whether it does or not, though, I think it’s safe to say that marketing of independent music might be part of that equation as well. Stay tuned.

Inexpensively create T-shirts for your band (Part 3)

Christmas shirt CONTINUED FROM PREVIOUS POST

Here are the only tools I used to create great looking T-shirts just like this one (for Christmas) for our own Internet boutique here at the n10ah Online Music Network.

  • A quality color printer
  • A 4-megapixel Minolta digital camera
  • A pair of scissors
  • A few sheets of white construction paper
  • A box of crayons
  • Some volunteer help
  • A couple of hours set aside on two weekends

The tools you use may differ based on your talents and materials available, but remember resourcefulness is the key.

Read more about how I found or finagled this stuff at this post on www.bootstrapme.com. Then follow the rest of the posts here at n10ah to learn how I used them.

CONTINUED FROM PREVIOUS POST

Time is another constraint you’ll face when trying to create a quality T-shirt or other promotional product for your band or music project.

But the lack of time and the constraints of a full-time job don’t have to be a deterrent.

I created the T-shirts for our online store at the n10ah Online Music Network in less than a week as explained in the next post of our series “Fill your boutique in about a week” at www.bootstrapme.com.

Follow the step by step explanation and you can too. And be sure to check out the next post when we talk about some of the tools I used to accomplish my task.

Inexpensively create T-shirts for your band (Part 1)

Alternative shirtSo you want to create some customized merchandise for your band or that next big musical endeavor.

Well, it won’t cost you much and may require just a bit of creativity and some of the items you have around the house or can borrow from friends and family.

I went through the process of designing and creating some merchandise to promote this website in the first few weeks of our existence and came up with a product like this.

You can too. Just follow along as I explain the process I went through in a series called “Fill your boutique in about a week” at www.bootstrapme.com beginning with this post.

Then take a few minutes to browse through our online store and help support the n10ah Online Music Network.

Musicane website puts musicians in control

musicane-screen-grab.GIFThanks to this post at Musick in the Head for pointing me to Musicane, an exciting service allowing online upload and sale of songs, films and other content right from your site.

According to its homepage, Musicane allows you to:

  • Promote and sell your own songs, films, ringtones, and other content online.

  •  Drag & drop the Musicane Player onto your social networking profile, homepage, or blog.

  •   Manage your fanlist and send out custom email blasts… all from one  site.

With Musicane, according to the website:

  • You set the price for your content. Keep up to 80% of whatever you sell
  • Fans can drag & drop your Musicane store onto their own websites.

  •  Uploading is easy and content is up for sale immediately

Find some background on how Musicane came to be here and a free sign-up form for the service here.

We’ll probably be releasing some original material on Musicane in the future so stay tuned. Meanwhile the link to the site will be added to our resource library very soon.

n10ah is rearranging the furniture!

Rearranged furniture Under a week in n10ah’s new home and we’re already moving things around a bit. The main changes are on your right hand rail.

In place of the long and ponderous blogroll which was not a very good way of helping visitors find subjects of interest to them, you’ll now find a range of links arranged in much more specific categories.

Those categories include Artists, Resources, Broadcasts and Podcasts, n10ah Network Links and Music Press.

We’re also planning a category called MySpace Music for links to the many independent music sites on MySpace.

If you have suggestions for other links or more categories, drop us an e-mail.
